Privacy Policy — My Emotion Journal

Last updated: 9 September 2026

My Emotion Journal does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information anywhere but your own device.

What the app collects

Nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, and no third-party SDK that gathers data of any kind.

What the app stores

Every entry you log — the emotion, the time, and any note you write — is saved in a local database on your own device. Your settings (language, reminder time, theme) are saved alongside it, also on-device. None of it is ever uploaded anywhere. Deleting the app deletes it all with it.

Network

The app makes no network requests of any kind. It works fully offline, permanently — that is not a mode, it is the only mode there is.

Moving from the previous app

My Emotion Journal replaces an earlier app under the same name. On its first launch, if it finds that earlier app's journal already on your device, it copies those entries into its own local database once, so your history carries over. That copy happens entirely on your device — nothing is sent anywhere to make it happen.

Sharing a journal

You can choose to export a journal as a file and hand it to your device's own share sheet — to send over AirDrop, Messages, email, or any app you pick. That is the only way any of your data ever leaves your device, and it only happens when you deliberately choose to share a specific file with a specific person. We never see it, and there is no server it passes through.

Received journals work the same way in reverse: opening a .emotionjournal file someone sent you imports it into your own local database, on your device, and nowhere else.

Notifications

If you turn on the daily reminder, it is scheduled locally on your device by iOS or Android. No notification service, push provider, or server of ours is involved.

Children

The app collects nothing from anyone, including children, and is suitable for all ages.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address, with a new date at the top.
